Home wiring and rewiring in Seattle.

Older wiring can quietly limit your home and raise real safety concerns, especially as you add modern appliances. We'll assess what you have, tell you honestly what it needs, and handle the work with our own in-house crew.

What it involves

What home rewiring involves.

A whole-home rewire replaces outdated wiring with modern, code-compliant copper cable, though in many cases a targeted, partial remediation is the smarter answer than a full replacement. For most Seattle homeowners, the conversation starts with one of two older wiring types.

Older wiring types

The wiring we most often address.

01

Knob-and-tube wiring

Pre-1950 wiring that can't carry heavy loads and shouldn't be buried in modern insulation. If your home still has active knob-and-tube circuits, it's best to address them before adding insulation or upgrading to a heat pump or EV charger.

02

Aluminum branch wiring

Needs aluminum-rated outlets and switches to address heating at the connection points. The fix is often targeted rather than a full rewire, depending on the scope and your panel's overall load.

Why and when

Why and when homeowners rewire.

Most rewiring projects come up at a natural moment: during a remodel, when the walls are already open and access is easy; alongside a panel upgrade that reorganizes overloaded circuits and makes room for new loads like an air conditioner; when new equipment such as a heat pump or EV charger needs wiring that older systems can't safely support; or after an insurance flag, since carriers often flag knob-and-tube and aluminum branch wiring at renewal. Once the work is complete, we provide a documentation packet you can share with your insurer.

Our approach

How we approach the work.

We start by evaluating the age and type of your existing wiring, your electrical panel and overall load, and whether a partial remediation or a full rewire is the right call, along with any requirements from your insurer. We're not going to sell you a full rewire if your home doesn't need one. Our in-house crew handles the work from start to finish, with no subcontractors.
