The five-step install process
Step 1, Schedule (Day 0)
You call. We answer. A real person, not a phone tree.
Chase or one of the partners handles the initial intake. We confirm what you’re calling about, ask the right diagnostic questions to scope the visit, and book a two-hour window. The technician’s name comes to you by text 30 minutes before arrival.
Phone hours: 7 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week. Same-day capacity for emergencies (no-heat calls, electrical safety issues, refrigerant leaks).
Step 2, Consult (Day 1)
On-site evaluation. The technician introduces themselves by name and shows you their license. They inspect the existing equipment, take measurements, photograph anything relevant, and run any diagnostics required (Manual J load calculation for new installs, combustion analysis for furnace work, panel load assessment for electrical).
You’ll hear the findings out loud before they leave: what they found, what they’d recommend, what the alternatives are, what the typical cost range looks like. The written quote follows within 24 to 48 hours.
No closing pitch on the consult. No “if you sign today” pressure. We want you to have the quote in writing, compare it, ask questions, and make the call when you’re ready.
Step 3, Approve (Day 2 to 4)
You review the quote at your own pace. The quote is itemized: equipment cost, install labor, permit fees, utility coordination, any rebates applied as discounts, taxes.
If you have questions, you call us. We don’t push or follow up daily. We will call us once at the 5-day mark to confirm whether you’d like to proceed or want more information.
When you approve, we collect a 25% deposit (most install jobs) or no deposit (most service work). We pull permits, order equipment, register your warranty, and book your install date.
Step 4, Install (Day 5 to 7, or as scheduled)
Install day. Crew arrives within the scheduled window, walks through the project plan with you before any work starts, and confirms the scope matches what’s in the quote.
You don’t need to be home all day. We’ll text you when we’re at the halfway point and when we’re 30 minutes from completion.
Standard install practices on every job:
- Drop cloths over flooring near the work area
- Old equipment removed and recycled, not left on your property
- New equipment installed to manufacturer specifications
- Combustion analysis on every gas job
- Static pressure measurement on every HVAC install (we set the system up to run correctly, not just turn on)
- All circuits labeled professionally
- Permits posted, inspector scheduled
Step 5, Satisfied (after install)
Final walkthrough. We don’t take final payment until you’ve watched the system run through a full cycle and confirmed everything works.
What we walk through:
- How to operate the thermostat and any smart features
- How to change the filter and how often
- How to register the manufacturer warranty (we do this for you in most cases)
- What’s covered by labor warranty vs manufacturer warranty
- When the first maintenance visit should happen
- Who to call if something goes wrong (us, directly, not a 1-800 number)
Anything you flag during the walkthrough, we fix before we leave. Your money clears only after you’ve signed off.
What you’ll never get from us
Three things we don’t do, in writing.
No high-pressure sales scripts. No “this price is only good today.” No “if you don’t replace this furnace your family is in danger.” We tell you the truth, sometimes the truth is “this furnace has 5 more good years if you do annual maintenance”, and we let you decide.
No surprise add-ons. What’s in the written quote is what you pay. If we discover something during install that genuinely requires additional work (we find rotten subfloor under the furnace, the existing flue is failing), we stop, document, photograph, and call you before doing anything. You decide whether to authorize the additional work.
No upsell to replacement when repair pencils out. If your 12-year-old furnace needs a $400 repair, we do the $400 repair. We do not pitch a $10,000 replacement on a working furnace.
“They diagnosed in twenty minutes what the last company missed for a year. Then they didn’t try to sell me a new system, they just fixed it.”, Diana K., Kirkland
